Hi, I'm Charlotte Yates. Welcome to my songwriting coaching service, Song Doctor. I can help you write better songs, seriously better songs. I can show you how to build real focus for your songwriting, deal with those who don't support your dreams and goals, and even how to face up to your own occasional lack of self-belief. As a music company exec once said to me 'None of this is rocket science!' That's absolutely true. But it does take time and effort, passion and love.
And I know because I've done it. Sometimes really well, sometimes half-arsed. Sometimes it's felt effortless and sometimes it's been like no one wants to know, and I mean no one! But I wouldn't have given it up for all the tea in China. I've learned what can up your game through trial and many errors, reading a myriad of songwriting books, blogs and magazines, writing articles, giving workshops, working with other professional songwriters, performing and recording for twenty-five years, and studying at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia and USA's Berklee College of Music.
